As you may be aware, KABA Door Systems was acquired on April 1st, 2011 by Nabtesco (our parent company). Kaba Door Systems, formerly a division of the Kaba Group, will now be called Gilgen Door Systems. The company is located in Schwarzenberg, Switzerland and their primary product lines consist of automatic doors and Platform Screen Doors (PSD).
The sale represents a positive step in the long term development of our business. It creates an extremely strong global market leader with access to technological advancements offered by four unique business entities: NABCO Japan, NABCO Beijing, NABCO Entrances (USA) and Gilgen Door Systems.
Together with the newly acquired company, Nabtesco will turn over $2bn USD and employ 5000 people at 31 companies throughout Asia, North America and Europe. Thanks to the complementary characteristics between companies, you as a valued customer can expect very little change. The excellent business relationship we have developed will remain unaffected.
Opportunities for management, technology and product synergies between companies exist. Future development of these synergies will result in the strengthening of NABCO Entrance's position in the North American market, which in turn will create greater opportunities for you.
